One day, an expert on 'Time Management' to speak in front of a group of business students, and he used an illustration which will not easily be forgotten by his students.
When he stands before his students he said: "Well, it's time quiz" Then he pulled out a gallon sized jar which quite wide-mouthed, and put it on the table.
Then he also spent about a dozen handfuls of hand-sized rocks and carefully placed the stones into the jar.
When the stone meet the jar to the top and no more stones which fit to enter into it, he asked: "Is this jar full?"
All the students replied in unison, "It!"
Then he said, "Really?"
He then reached under the table a basket of gravel. Then he put pebbles into the jar as he shook a little, so that the gravel was a place among the crevices of the stones.
Then she asked the students once again: "Is this jar full?"
This time the students just stunned, "Maybe not yet!", One of the students answered.
"Great!" he replied.
Back he took down the table and pulled out a basket of sand. He began entering the sand into the jar, and sand it with ease directly fulfill the empty spaces between the gravel and rocks.
Once again he asked, "Is this jar full?"
"Not yet!" the students replied in unison once again he said, "Great!"
Then he took a bottle of water and started spraying water into the jar until the jar was filled to the brim.
Then the Time Management Expert KPD sees his students and asked: "What is purpose of this illustration?"
